Guess what I got? I got a nice suprise from a friend, a beautiful and I mean shes a beaut, whites eagle spectrum with the rainbow coil and lower shaft with smaller blue max deep scan coil.. It was just given to me.. Honestly, I was so thrilled, I am not used to being given things to be honest.. so I am gonna read the manual see what I can do with her, I figure play in the dirt first, see how I do.. either way, one thing I can say is my buddy Ed shocked me to death on this one... I will rig up a harness and see how I do with it.. I like whites machines but I cannot handle the weight of them.... I just wanted to share this with ya cause I am thrilled.

and Ed, if your here and reading this, Thank you big time.. You got me on that one.

Rae, I would go with the standard programs for now.coin and relics are good programs....they are good and will do till you get used to them..but as an added bonus...go to pro settings after you select a program and then to audio and scoll down to VCO...hit the enter button so it reads "ON" then pull the switch to ya..this will help you in the pin pointing department...VCO gets higher pitched when you are over your target..it will help you pin point with your machine faster..helps me a bunch..after you get used to your machine I can send you some programs to try out..pratcice and you and your new machine will become one..The XLT is an awesome machine...Chuck....

Thanks Chuck.. I just couldnt remember from the old xlt I had..but this ones a tad different, so am hoping.. I will practice in my back yard till I am comfortable...worse thing is to go to a good site and use a new or different machine and whamo it could wreck your whole hunt if ya dont know what your doing..

thats the one thing that bugs me on the good whites machines....heavy..but I will try a lighten the load test, I have rigged up something so we'll see if the dang thing works on cutting some of the weight off me.

Cool that you received that machine, I just got one of those given to me from my wifes grandfather. That is kinda weird. I took it out for the third time today and I am loving it. It is a little heavy but once my arm got numb it was all money from there. I dug a 1965 quarter at 8 inch's and a 1945 wheatie at 9. That machine, I noticed, is deadly on quarters. Have fun with it and if you learn any tips on it, let me know .
