Had been difficult to find a hunting buddy

I first started detecting back in 2007 when I bought a Tesoro Silver Umax. Then in 2008 I joined TQ and met a wonderful online forum community who shared my newfound passion for metal detecting.

I was lucky to met Steve in PR who used to post a lot in TQ and on which at the time used to live in PR. Went on multiple occasions to do metal detecting at the Beach. A great person indeed but unfortunately I've lost contact with him back in 2012 :(

After that I remember once I gave a metal detector to my uncle but I failed on trying to wake up his interest in metal detecting

So all this years 90% of the time I have been hunting alone no been able to find a hunting buddy. That's one of the reasons I took a long 6yrs break from MD.

Moving forward in time I had dust off my metal detectors and have started MD again. I have a family now and my kids still young but someday I hope that they can tell me Dad lets go Metal Detecting

I do hope you can find a hunting buddy. It is nice to share the excitement of a good find. Hopefully your kids will get interested. I also knew Steve from here. He thought me about being am admin. Last I heard he was with Terri. I have lost contact also.

One way to meet potential hunting buddies is to attend a seeded hunt if they have any within driving distance of where you are. Not only are the hunts fun but there's a lot of people there and it's quite possible some of them are also looking for someone to hunt with.

Hmm I'm the opposite, I'm a loner and want to stay that way.
Have took friends and cousins to some of my beaches and in those cases, we stay far apart anyhow, I like to concentrate on detecting when I detect.

But to each their own, I liked detecting with my daughter when she was young and I first started, and occasionally I'll try to get kids interested and give them some tips if they have a decent attitude.

I hunt fish and detect with my best friend, he moved 200 miles away last September. If I do any of that, it's like I'm cheating on him. When I was young I was the wind, and did what I wanted. But enjoy his company so much, it feels like cheating. LOL
