Is this something you have made or changed? I am not familiar with the V3i. I have seen them but not used one.

Trying to do the same thing for my GMT. Same Battery Tray. Did you have to cut out the AA battery Supports to get the 18650's to lay flat enough so the Slide would closes ? If the sliding door will not go in place As the Trey goes in opening side down how does the Contacts match up? OK ?

Cool,, did you add more power?
The battery box is set up for 8 AA batteries (12V) . The LiIon 18650 output 3.7V each bring total to 11.1V. Plenty. Advantage is a lot more Run Time due to the Amp Hour Rating of the batteries. Rechargeable and Also a bit lighter.

AA batteries have around 400–900 milliamp-hours capacity.

18650 LiIon have around 2000-2200 milliamp-hour capacity.

I don't know the numbering system but aren't these the same batteries that are used in the e-cigs (vapes) that are popular now. That's what they look like anyway.
